The Blue Rock Music Program
The Blue Rock Foundation’s ‘God’s of Gr(S)ound’ program has been created to allow young people between the ages of 12 and 20 to experience first hand an introduction to music creation, song writing, playing of musical instruments, sound recording and organizing a concert.
The aim of the program is to educate young people to engage with music in a productive and creative way and allow them the freedom to express themselves through sound. This will be carried out in a number of fun, engaging and challenging interactive workshops.
A team of young people, all of whom are experienced in the music industry will deliver the program.
This program will be delivered over a four-day period, each day consisting of six intensive hours of workshops designed to focus on building the communication skills needed to work as a group. Through a collaborative approach, the students will create a musical artwork that will be delivered as a public concert on the last day of the course.
After the concert all students will receive a Certificate of Graduation and will join a closed social media network of previous participants. This network will publicise opportunities within the music business such as band placements and will provide a forum for the students to network, gaining mutual support and encouragement.
