Paddle boarding and kayaking adventure

A huge thanks to all who made Blue Rock Foundation Gold Coast’s first activity a success! Thanks to the Currumbin Boat Shed who provided low-cost hire of paddle boards and kayaks, which kids and mentors alike had a great time with (especially once we worked out which way the paddles were supposed to be used)! Meredith and Amber-Lee spotted heaps of fish and jellyfish in the clear water and the wind wasn’t blowing too strong luckily! Gyri and Gerry even made it out to the ocean in their kayak, catching some waves before making their way back to us! By the end of the afternoon, we were impressed to see Amber-Lee, Liam and Sam were all able to paddle their boards by themselves! We finished up with some fun sand and water play, where the mentors who had managed to stay dry ended up in the water (thanks to James and Sam!)

The girls made a start on our new sign for Blue Rock Foundation while waiting for our delicious BBQ lovingly cooked by Emily and James, so look out for it at our next activity! A big thanks to all those who travelled down South for the afternoon. Hope to see you all again soon!
